Your features & services seem different from other Web hosting companies. Why?
LabradorData is not a web hosting company. We are a license provider of MyWebMaker. In addition to the actual MyWebMaker software, we provide the services necessary for MyWebMaker to function. If you are looking for traditional web hosting (without MyWebMaker) there are many companies that can provide that service.
Do I have to use MyWebMaker?
As part of our Terms of Service, you must maintain a functioning MyWebMaker site with at least one page of original content (i.e., content developed by you). If you really don't want to use MyWebMaker, then you may wish to choose one of the many available web hosting companies for your website.
Can I develop pages outside of MyWebMaker using standard HTML?
Your website design is a decision to be made by you (or your webmaster), not by LabradorData. Some websites may require external pages to function correctly, hence it would not be appropriate for us to prohibit the creation of such pages.
Why is your service available only to Labradorians (or people with a Labrador affiliation)? Doesn't that restrict your business?
LabradorData is not driven by the same objectives as a web hosting company. We provide a very different service. Our primary objectives are: (1) to assist Labradorians in producing quality websites which they can easily maintain (using our MyWebMaker software), and (2) to enhance the availability of Labrador-related information on the World Wide Web. In our opinion we can best achieve these objectives by focusing on resident or related Labrador clients.
